Once a household name in Minnesota for entertainment and family dining, Shakey's Pizza has triumphantly returned to the state. Shakey's has sixteen locations around the state and a long history with its first restaurant in Minnesota, which opened in 1966 in Columbia Heights. It has become a household name. 

Minnesota's early years

On August 8, 1964, Richfield's 500 E. The area's first Shakey's opened on 78th Street. Richard Lupu, owner of 11 of Minnesota's 17 franchises, founded it a 2 . Five new locations will open in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area, the first to open in the summer of 20111.

Brand new eateries in Minneapolis and St. Paul have embraced the original concept while adding contemporary touches like arcade games, big-screen TVs, vintage American music and pop-culture memorabilia. Shaky's classic long tables for large gatherings and communal dining were incorporated into the design, along with cozy booths for smaller gatherings and families. The menu includes signature Mojo® potatoes, crispy fried chicken, and Shakey's Original thin-crust pizzas made with hand-tossed dough, made fresh daily, plus a variety of gourmet pizzas and wings dipped in flavorful sauces.

Shaki's present day

With rapid expansion, Shakey's Pizza maintains its leadership position in the fast-casual dining industry. In addition to bringing a piece of history back to Minnesota, the Shakey's experience was shared with a new generation of customers. It's still a place to make memories, but it now has a nostalgic charm mixed with modern elements

On April 30, 1954, the only pizza parlor in downtown Sacramento, California opened its doors and would become the beloved chain's Shakey's Pizza. Founded by Sherwood "Shaky" Johnson and Ed Plummer, Shakey's wasn't just a place to get a slice of pizza; it was a gathering place for fun, music and delicious food.

It's early days

Sherwood Johnson, better known as "Shakey," earned his moniker after contracting fever during World War II, which caused nerve damage. When the shakey first opened, the pizza ovens weren't ready, so they only served beer. Proceeds from beer sales were used to purchase pizza ingredients. For next week. Shakey's Speed was famous not only for its pizza, but also for the live Dixieland jazz performed by Shakey and other musicians.

Extensions and Franchises

Shakey's Pizza Parlor is the first franchised pizza chain in the United States. By 1968, this work had reached 342 locations. As of July 2019, there were approximately 500 stores located in the United States, the Philippines, Singapore, and Japan.

A legacy of entertainment

The original Shekin's Room was more than just a dining room; it was an experience.
